Students are required to act as teaching fellows in at least one course. We recommend that students complete this requirement by the end of their second year if possible.

Students are required to complete one semester of teaching that is at minimum 0.20 FTE, preferably by the end of their second year. It is recommended that they do not teach and have their PQE during the same term. Students should inform the program administrator as they make plans to fulfill their teaching requirement.  
Beginning in Academic Year 2027–28, compensation received through a Teaching Fellow (TF) appointment used to fulfill the program's teaching requirement will count toward the student's standard program support. The student's stipend will be reduced by the amount of TF compensation received so that the combination of stipend and TF compensation equals the student's standard level of support.
